Your 8-dollar Ikebana-ish Freestyle Arrangement

by Jacqueline Remo
(Chino, CA)

I did a simple yet elegant flower arrangement lately which costs only around 8 dollars.

I used the following:
1. a Japanese rectangular plate from my kitchen as my "vase"
2. a few river rocks as accents
3. orange lilies
4. a large rose
5. grass and leaves from the garden
6. half of an oasis

Since this is an Ikebana-like arrangement it called for a few flowers only. The curled up grass leaves from the garden gave the arrangement a bit more breadth and the standing tall grass gave it more of the height illusion.

Sometimes really less is more :)
