Upright Moribana Variation 1

In the basic upright style, the Shin, Soe and Hikae are set as below:

Shin = 15 degrees, forward on the left
Soe = 45 degrees, on the left
Hikae = 75 degrees, on the right

For upright moribana variation 1, the difference is that Shin is 15 degrees, but backwards on the right. You will be able to understand more if you see the kakeizu below and compare it with the kakeizu of the basic upright style.

After carefully looking at the diagram, we are now prepared to make the arrangement.

Prepare the container and kenzan. The kenzan's position is at #1.

The materials to be used are bulrush and purple mums. Now, insert Shin, Soe and Hikae, just like the diagram.

Next, add-on the supporting stems for Hikae.

Then, do the same for Shin and Soe. Now, your arrangement will look like this.
