Unique Bridal Bouquets

Designs by Andy Djati Utomo

Unique bridal bouquets have very distinctive design, and most of the time, make a lasting impression.

I had the opportunity to view some of the most unique bouquets the floral industry has to offer.

The floral designer that made it happen was Andy Djati Utomo, a reknowned floral designer from Indonesia, specialising in bridal works. You'll see from his designs below how dedicated he is to each of his design.

Orchids and Cotton

This bouquet is an assembly of cotton 'sticks'. Each cotton is shaped into long sticks and tied with a thin wire. They are all assembled together to form this bouquet. The top of the bouquet is decorated with purple orchids, dusty miller and ornithogalum.

White Phalaenopsis and Wooden Sticks

This unique bridal bouquet looks like a bowl with a handle. The wooden sticks are glued together compactly to form the bouquet structure. In it, are white phalaenopsis and ivy leaves.

The bouquet handle is wrapped with ivory ribbon and twisted in the end.

Fan Bouquet

The 'fan' is made from dried twigs and leaves. Each is glued and layered to form the 'fan'. Imagine the amount of time spent just to create a structure like this. The fan is decorated with white phalaenopsis orchids and some ornithogalum blooms.

You can the inside layer better here...

Hanging Bouquet

This unique bridal bouquet has a wooden handle, which holds a structure made from coils of hanging roots. The same hanging roots can be seen hanging from the inside of the structure.

The flowers used to decorate this bouquet are orange orchids, Kaleidoscope orchids in orange and some red hypericum berries.

Cascade Bouquet

The same hanging roots are used in this design. Different sizes of the coiled roots are glued together to form a cascade bouquet. Then, orange orchids and some vines are glued onto the surfaces to make yet another unique bridal bouquet.

Ribbon Bouquet

This bridal bouquet is literally a ribbon bouquet. The ribbon structure is made from pinecones, with each bead separated and glued again together. The center of the ribbon is decorated with red gerber daisies, red dendrobiums, oregonias and red hypericum berries.

Pomander

The pinecone beads are also used in making this pomander. It is decorated with red orchids, purple dianthus, red hypericum berries, dusty milelrs and some ivy.

Scepter Bouquet

Another unique bridal bouquet that will take your breath away. This is something like a scepter bouquet, with a long but slanted handle. The top is decorated with a jewel and a purple orchid.

On the inside, is like a sandwich. Between the two layers are purple dianthus, purple carnations and some ferns.

Bag Bouquet

This bag bouquet is made from some fluffy material and frills of ribbon. The bag is secured with a handle, wrapped with metallic wire.

The flowers that adorn this unique bridal bouquet are orange dendrobiums, green anthuriums and green cymbidiums. The dendrobium buds are also used hanging from the bouquet.

Phalaenopsis and Pinecone Beads

This is also something similar to one of the bouquets above. Pinecone beads are used to create a long rectangular structure, then wrapped to form a round shape. Inside the layers are white phalaenopsis orchids, red orchids and hypericum berries.

The interesting design continued to the bouquet handle, which you can see is wrapped with copper wire and at the end are the berries.

While all the hype is on wedding bouquets with decorative wires and feathers, this floral designer chose to use natural materials in his designs.

You could also see his bridal flower arrangements designs. They are as equally stunning as the designs above.
