The Types of Hydrangeas That You Can Use For Your Flower Arrangement

Basically the types of hydrangeas can be divided into 5, namely Mophead, Lacecap, Annabelle, Oakleaf and P.G.

I personally love hydrangeas because of it sweet looks. They are actually a cluster of small flowers.

They are really nice looking flowers but they don't last that long. The stems will easily become soft if you hold it for too long.

Despite this, it is often used in bridal bouquets. Take a look at this burgundy calla lilies wedding bouquet in which I used pink hydrangeas together with calla lilies.

And this simple round bouquet where I also used pink hydrangeas.

Mophead

This is a large ball-shaped hydrangea and it is the most often used as cut flowers. They mostly come in pink and blue.

This is the type which I used in my bridal bouquets.

Their varieties include Ravel, Endless Summer, Amethyst, Forever Pink, Penny Mac and others.

Annabelle

The Annabelle is also a large ball-shaped flower but is in pure white.

Oakleaf

The name oakleaf is derived from its leaves which are large and will turn yellow, orange, red and burgundy in fall.

Varieties include Snow Queen, Harmony, Snow Flake and others.

P.G

The P.G type is also called the pannicle flowering type, which means that the flowers aer cone shaped. This type of hydrangeas are basically white in colour but will turn pink or red as it ages.

Varieties include Grandiflora, Tardiva, Silver Dollar, Floribunda and others.

Lacecap

this type of hydrangeas has large leaves and they are a bit different than the others.

It has small flowers in the inside but around them, are flat flowers with 4 petals. Varieties include Kardinal, Lemon Wave, Blue Billow, Tokyo Delight and many others.
