Silk Roses Topiary To Decorate Your Home

By definition, a topiary simply means sculptures that are made of trees and shrubs. But in the world of floral arranging, a topiary is usually something else.

Usually, a topiary is an arrangement in which a ball of flowers is attached to the container using straight sticks.

In this silk roses topiary, you'll see how it is done.

Materials needed for this topiary are:

  • silk roses
  • silk fillers
  • silk foliage
  • ceramic container
  • white sticks
  • moss
  • grey foam (for aritificial flowers)
  • floral wire
  • spray adhesive
  • cellophane tape

If you don't want to get the silk roses and filelrs seprately, you can always buy a rose bush that comes with fillers together.

First, you need to prepare the container and the topiary frame.

Take a block of grey foam and cut it a form a ball. Take another block to insert into the container to fully cover the container.

The height of the foam should be the same of the container.

Then, assemble 4 white sticks of roughly the same length, they need not be really straight, arrange them so that they look straight.

It is important not to cut them into equal lengths because it will difficult for you to insert the foam ball that you have cut earlier.

Have some short ones and longer ones. Then, tape bothe ends of the assembled sticks using the cellophane tape so that they are secure and for easy insertion.

Now, insert the stick into the container, in the middle of the foam.

Take the ball foam and insert at the other end, like this...

Now, cut each rose, leaf and filler separately. Don't cut too short. Leave about an inch of stem for insertion.

First, insert the main flower, the roses. Insert at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. Then, from there, insert the rest of the roses into the empty spaces.

Then, do not insert the fillers first. Cover the foam with leaves.

After the foam is practically covered, insert the fillers into the remaining gap.

Now, let's cover the foam in the container. Spray glue onto the foam and put moss on it.

If you look at your topiary now, it is rather simple. To spice up your arrangement, you can add a little bit of artificial ivy to introduce some lines to the round-shaped arrangement.

You can now use your silk roses topiary to decorate your home.
