Emphasizing Straight Lines In A Parallel Arrangement

Parallel arrangement is a unique arrangement. It emphasizes on straight lines in an arrangement.

Usually materials with straight lines are used.

One tip is, to actually show even straighter lines, we need to introduce some curvy lines in the arrangement.

Then, the straight lines will be emphasized more.

In this example of a parallel arrangement, I am using

  • red roses
  • red celosias
  • red berries
  • fruit casa
  • dried salix
  • ferns

in my arrangement.

Roses and celosias are considered to have straight stems. Make sure to remove all the leaves so that the stems are clean and more visible.

Prepare a red container fitted with soaked foam.

First, use the red celosias. Cut them long around the same length. Insert them straight into the foam as shown below.

Next, fill up the base with red berries. Then, insert the red roses so that the flowers are placed just below the celosias.

Reserve some to put at the bottom so that the top and the bottom connects.

Cut the rest of the roses short and insert them at the bottom of the base, like this.

Cover the revealing foam with ferns.

Now, the arrangement is all red in colour. To break the red colour, add in the fruit casas which are green in colour.

This will make the arrangement more appealing.

Now, you have all the straight lines. Insert the dried salix near the straight stems and look at the effect.

And now, you have made a lovely parallel arrangement.
