Natural Birdcage Arrangement
This natural birdcage arrangement has a story of its own. This is another arrangement that mimicks nature.
It is about a bird finding a place amidst the trees to make her nest and lay her eggs. The location she picked is shady and cool.
In this arrangement, you will create a cave-like structure using leaves and flowers. A place for the bird to place her nest.
First, get a basket as the container for this arrangement. Fill up the basket with wet foam. Before you insert the wet foam, make sure you line the basket with transparent plastic so that water won't drip out.
To create the cave-like frame, use salix. Insert salix into the foam, at the back of the basket. We are leaving some space in the front for placing the bird nest.
Next, insert some vines to make the "cave" shady. Any creeping vine will do.
You can also put pink ginger to add more volume to the "cave".
For more colour, you can insert white eustoma, allium and babies breath, at the same time adding more materials to build up the "cave".
To avoid from the top getting heavier, we need to bring down the color to the bottom. Add purple alstromerias near the entrance of the "cave".
You can also add some yellow peacock and dracena leaves. When you insert them, make them look like they have grown naturally from the basket.
To cover the exposed foam at the sides, you can insert giant teacup leaves.
When your "cave" structure is finished, you can take some wet moss and cover the exposed foam in the front.
Now your bird has a place to build its nest and lay her eggs.
You can present this natural birdcage arrangement to your friend who has just given birth. The bird and its eggs represents a new life is born and is perfect for a new baby gift.
