Line Flowers You Can Use In Your Arrangement

Line flowers are usually flowers that have straight and long stems. When used in an arrangement, they define the shape of the arrangement.

Some of them have straight stems but they can be bent to create beautiful lines in an arrangement.

Let's see what these flowers are.

Molucella

Molucellas are straight and long green flowers. Can be cut short or use as is. The problem with this flower is that it has thorns.

You cannot see the thorns because they are tiny, so you need to becareful when handling this flower.

Cattail

Cattail or Bulrush are really tall and straight. It has a long thin stem with a brown cushion at the top.

Very easy to handle.

Liatris

Liatris is a popular summer flower. The stem is quite thick and very straight. Popular colors are purple and pink.

Gladiolus

Gladiolus has a straight stem with flowers coming out from the stem.

They come in many colors, like white, pink, orange, red and light purple.

Tuberose

Tuberose looks similar to gladiolus but they are different. Tuberose has a nice fragrant smell.

It has a long stem with flowers coming out from it.

Calla Lilies

Calla lilies, as we all know, is an elegant flower with straight but bendable stem. Becasue of this very feature, when used in an arrangement, it wil create beautiful lines for the arrangement.

Available in various colors, calla lilies is one of the most versatile line flower. However, when too hydrated the stem tend to be soft and insertion could be difficult.

Dendrobium Orchids

Dendrobium orchids are quite bushy and their stem is not really long.

Also quite versatile because it can be cut short and inserted into arrangements. Available in white, purple, yellow and orange.

Snapdragon

Snapdragons also grown on tall stems especially in winter. Common colors are like white, pink, orange, red and purple.

Why the name "snap"? Because the flowers can be snapped using your hands and children love to play with these.

Delphinium

Delphiniums make beautiful line flowers because of its stunning blue color. I think it is the most widely used delphinium.

Other available colors are purple and white.
