Inspiring Ikebana Designs

Inspiring ikebana designs from the 45th Annual Ikebana Exhibition you can see, admire and appreciate.

An arrangement using gloriosas. The container looks like a bucket and very unique.

This is a nageire emphasizing on lines. The straight stem of the heliconia complements the bent draceana leaves. The container used is very unique, too.

A ship made of marble is used as part of this arrangement. To complement the ship, song leaves, baby's breaths and small stones are used.

An arrangement using a white mesh. In between the mesh, are pink celosias. On top of the mesh structure are dried branches in white.

A nageire that emphasizes on lines. The burgundy cymbidiums bring out the color of this arrangement. A tall white container is used, with some vines flowing from the top to the bottom. You can see a nice 'movement' in the arrangement.

A tall arrangement using a see-through cylindrical vase. I like this arrangement because it uses dried sugar cane and also some yellow fruits can be seen hanging. The yellow cymbidiums and lambs ear foliage combination is very unique. The cotton-like material used also make this arrangement really special.

Another arrangement in a tall see-through glass container. This time, brilliant work of white phalaenopsis, white anthuriums, purple beargrass, a rattan armature as well as a fan-like armature can be seen. For fillers, baby's breath is used.

I would call this a birds nest arrangement. The red anthuriums are in fact arranged on a birds nest structure. The vines added more soft lines in the arrangement.

A nice tall arrangement in a slim glass container. Flowers used are pink stargazer lilies and asparagus ferns with some baby's breath.

A unique arrangement using big green test tubes. Arranged vertically but grouped together using rattan coils. Green cymbidiums and platycerium leaves are combined in this arrangement.

An ikebana design showing beautiful lines of the cypress sticks. They are bent to form triangles and look lovely. The anthuriums matches the cypress sticks and the small stones in the water, covers the kenzan used.

Another nageire arrangement using one type of material but showing beautiful lines. The hanging heliconias from the white container creates soft lines, whereas the heliconia branches creates the straight lines. A nice combination.
