Ikebana Demonstration Was The Highlight Of The Event

Apart from the ikebana exhibits, the highlight of the 44th Annual Ikebana Exhibition Kuala Lumpur Chapter 72 was the ikebana demonstration.

Two 'sensei's were flown specially from Okinawa Japan to demonstrate arranging ikebana.

Zayasu Naomi (Zayasu Sensei) from the Kozan school and Sunabe Ritsuko (Sunabe Sensei) from Misyo School.

Each demonstrator showed 3 pieces of ikebana arrangement, but here I am only showing the works of Zayasu Sensei.

Here is Zayasu sensei in action. On the right is the translator.

Zayasu sensei demonstrated 3 marvellous pieces, and here they are...

Sensei brought two special identical vase with rattan casing for this arrangement. The flowers were taken from the ambassador's garden at her home.

A moribana arrangement, in a shallow dish using bird of paradise.

A very interesting piece that uses bamboo that have been decorated into a mouse. Flowers used are Golden Ramsey, pink cymbidium orchids and some foliage.
