Ideas For Inexpensive Centerpieces

Brides always look for ideas to cut on wedding costs, including ideas for inexpensive centerpieces.

They often go,

"How can I get beautiful centerpieces without having to spend so much money?.."

"I'm on a tight budget, I'd rather spend my money on something else..."

"Are cheap and beautiful centerpieces possible?.."

"Where can I find ideas for inexpensive centerpieces?"

For the last question, you've come to the right place. Sometimes simple centerpieces that don't cost you a fortune will make your centerpieces look classy and elegant and make your wedding the most memorable.

In a low round glass container, put a candle in the middle and surround it with flower blooms. The ideal flower for this idea are flowers that can float in water. An alternative flower that you can choose is the gerber daisy.

In a small glass container, fill up with water and just place one bloom of gerbera daisy.

There is so much you can do with centerpieces. They need not be expensive but looks horrible. They can also be elegant and simple with less budget, as proven in the ideas above.

Inexpensive Centerpiece Containers

One of the ideas for inexpensive centerpieces is to use inexpensive containers. These containers can be found in your attic or garage where you store your old unwanted goods. You can also buy these containers as yard sales, charity sales and the second hand shop. They don't cost that much.

If you drink milk regularly, keep the milk bottles. These bottles make beautiful containers for centerpieces. Fill them up with water and insert a single stem of flower in each. Make many with different flower types and you get lovely cheap centerpieces for your wedding. Use flowers like carnations, gerbera daisies, gladiolus, stock, calla lilies and other long stemmed flowers.

The same goes with jam jars. They make lovely containers. Use wild flowers and arrange them in a bunch and place them in these jars. Tie with a matching ribbon to make beautiful home-styled centerpieces. Use flowers like chamomile, daisies, stock and other flowers.

The hamper gifts that you receive may contain an assortment of tea. They come in lovey colorful decorative tins. Use these tea tins as containers. Match the color of the tins with the color of the flowers. Your centerpiece will look like flowers 'bursting out' of the tin containers. Absolutely gorgeous.

If you have a collection of mugs at home, use them as your containers. Have several mugs with flowers on the wedding tables to make an impact.

Better Yet, No Containers At All

Big or small centerpiece, you need containers for the flowers and they are costly. But did you know that you have a choice of not buying a container for your centerpiece?

One of the ideas for inexpensive centerpieces is using the floral foam itself as the container but you need to 'dress them up' to cover it. And there are many ways to do that.

You can wrap the foam with cyprus sticks, dracaena leaves, dried banana trunk skin, wrapping paper, moss, ribbons and cinnamon sticks.

The floral foam needs to be soaked with water first, before the covering up is done. After you soaked the foam, cover the base with a plastic film to avoid water dripping. Then, you can use glue or pins to secure the materials that you want to use for covering.
