Video Excerpt

Hi, I'm Sandy with Afloral.

Today, we're working with the wreath rings.

This is a wreath ring on top of plastic that holds water. And we have fresh floral foam on top of it. I started adding Bakers Fern to it.Sometimes, you can see these are decorated just around the bottom so that it looks like a wreath.

Today, we're going to make a centerpiece out of it, something taller and unique.

Remember, whenever you use fresh flowers, you always take the leaves off, the part where you're going to stick into the foam.

This is a small piece of foam, so you don't need to make holes any larger than you have to.

So, I have some solidaster here, so you can see I put in a tall piece and I'm going to put in 2 shorter pieces.

And this is quite fun because I'm not using this wreath like you would expect it to be. Instead, we're making something taller at the back and shorter in the front.

I'm going to add a couple of roses in here. And we have a little cluster of flowers here. If you want to make it taller, just add taller flowers.

We're gonna make another cluster of flowers in front. Again, a short stem because this is a small piece of foam.

Here, we're using the gerberra daisies for our cluster. This is looking like a small garden.

At the back, we have rose garden with our solidaster. At the front, gerberra daisies which grow a little shorter and closer to the ground.

In between, we have a lot of greenery, because in natural environment, we could find a lot of greenery.Around your garden, we have leaves from the flowers themselves, the grass.

In my garden, I have weed, too. How about in yours? Now, we have two groupings of flowers. Let's add a little more.

How about some of our alstromeria lilies. They grow in a cluster, so let's put them in a cluster. I actually cut them all apart, there are several stems here.

Let's poke them in as though they are one. And we can do that, with two groups. Make sure we get rid of the leaves because they will die first. Then, we have a little cluster of lilies.

So now we have gerberra in our garden, lilies in our garden. I think we need a little filler with this one. So, I have a little baby breaths.

Baby breaths grow in these clusters, so these will be perfect.

This is a kind of fun arrangement. Something a little different than you might see in everyday arrangement or centerpiece.

Where would you put something that is tall and one-sided like this? Could go on your mantel piece, end table.

Now, we have 3 groupings, and we need to fill in this little section over here. Miniature carnations grow very beautifully in your garden.

They also hold up very well in centerpieces. They are also long-lasting flower.

Let's just add a little cluster of carnations here. They grow several on a stem, so it's good if we cluster them. So, it looks like they're really growing.

Make sure you include your buds, because that would be how they're growing naturally. Some open flowers and then of course a new bud would form.

And isn't this fun?

This is a less technical arrangement, but more of your own eye can tell you if it's the way you like it.

OK.

Here we started with a round ring, and we added our roses and solidaster here, lilies and baby breaths, gerberras on the front and some miniature carnations.

Isn't that a fun design?
