How To Tie A French Bow

You can recognize a french bow by the small loop at the center of the bow. The beauty of the french bow is that the loops are of different sizes on each side and they are beautifully apart.

Follow the steps below to make one.

First, make a small loop using your thumb as shown below. Your thumb will be the center of the loop.

Take the longer end of the ribbon, make a slightly bigger loop and secure it underneath your thumb.

Make another loop on the other side and secure the loop at your thumb.

Repeat the steps below until you have 4 loops on each side.

Then, make a big loop using the remaining ribbon underneath your thumb, as shown below.

Cut away the excess ribbon.

Place a wire across the first loop you created, making a U shape.

Tighten the wire at the back of the bow by twisting it.

Cut the big loop that you made earlier into half, to make the tail.

Now, your french bow is completed.
