Amazing Flower Sculptures Presented To Visitors Of LAMAN 2008
This year at LAMAN 2008, we have a section on Flower Sculptures. These are big flower arrangements carrying a certain theme. Some of the sculptures displayed this year, revolves around saving the environment, such as the use of old newspapers, PET bottles and plastic cups. Others are just equally great in their unique presentation and appeal. The first sculpture revolves around tyres. Old tyres are hanged with different lengths, and each tyre carries one color. The 'yellow' tyre is decorated with yellow gerberras, Golden Ramseys, yellow cymbidiums with asparagus ferns. The 'purple' tyre has beautiful vanda orchids and white hydrangeas, whereas the 'green' tyre is decorated with green pom poms and green dendrobiums.

A sculpture made of rattan, but filled with crmpled newspapers. Interesting concept. At the top are red anthuriums and some foliage to bring the color.

Another sculpture that made use of tyre. The tyre is decorated with beautiful tropical flowers like calatheas and bird of paradise, with white pompoms and green chrysanthemums as fillers. The folded dracena leaves made quite an impact as well.

Are those bamboos? No, they're not. They're paper pipes, those that you get from tissue rolls but extremely long. They are arranged uniquely, with all kinds of foliages jutting out from the pipes. At the base, is a spread of fine sand with small cactus plants.

Seems like newspapers are a hot trend these days. This sculpture also contains stacked newspapers. They are stacked alternately with red anthuriums, red arachnid orchids and platycerium leaves.

The next sculpture resembles a tree. The bottom of the 'tree' is decorated with Golden Ramseys. The fruit of the 'tree' is a ball made of white plastic cups.

The last sculpture is also a tree, but decorated with hanging half-cut PET green bottles, with pink ixoras.
