Flower Girl Hair Wreath

Get flower girl hair wreath ideas and steps to make your own!

The flower girl hair wreath is worn by the flower girl on the wedding day.

The hair wreaths are made from small flowers attached to the floral wire and decorated with ribbon.

The flowers used can be fresh or silk, up to your preference.

Modern and Contemporary Style

This is a very modern hairpiece, not like the traditional hairpiece. The traditional hairpiece uses fresh or artificial and are tied closely together using floral tape to form a loop.

This modern hairpiece is different. It uses very less materials. So, if you are on a tight budget, this is one option you must not overlook. This hairpiece is made of copper wire.

First, using your finger, curl long strands of copper wire.

Then, combine them together to form a loop, about 20cm in diameter.

Next, using the hot glue gun, glue small artificial flowers randomly. Some facing up, some facing down, some facing outward, some facing inward.

You can use any type of flower with any color, so long as it matches the wedding dress. Here, I used white flowers, easily matches with any color. Preferably, use small flowers. Do not use big flowers, as they will spoil the sweetness of this hairpiece.

Next, prepare two strands of copper wire, with pearls tied randomly to them.

Now, take each strand and wrap the loop with it. Continue with the other strand.

And here is what your modern hairpiece looks like. In the picture, is Rachel, a friend of mine, who willingly posed as the model here. Thanks, Rachel!

Hair Wreath Alternatives

Instead of wearing a hair wreath, the flower girl can also wear something on the head, made of fresh flowers. Take a plain plastic hair band, a floral adhesive and some small flower blooms. Glue each flower head onto the hair band and around it to decorate it. The hair band can easily be worn by the flower girl.

This flower girl headband is made of red berries, lavender statice and blue hydrangeas.

Another idea is choose a slightly bigger flower bloom and glue the flower on one side of the hair band. Choose a peony, a rose or ranunculus and match the flower color to the wedding theme. This is a simple idea but a great accessory to the flower girl.

You can also stylize the flower girl's hair with fresh flowers. The flowers are 'sewn' directly in between the hair and create a more natural look.
