Floral Headdress Show - A Surprised Agenda
This year's Annual Ikebana Exhibition made history because of a surprise event that was included in the agenda. A Floral Headdress Show. There were 8 headdresses on 8 models walking around the tables to show off their headdresses. We were indeed surprised. There was a sudden commotion when the models came walking in. This was the first floral headdress on show. It was a flamboyant headdress, the theme color is red and the headdress was decorated with red anthuriums, red carnations with vertically arranged dried sticks. This next piece has spring colors, with pink anthuriums, pink stargazer lilies, blue net balls and yellow lilies. I think the theme suitable for this headpiece is 'garden' or 'nature'. This is a sophisticated headdress which flows from the top to the waistline. It is actually made of short sticks arranged neatly together, and the length becomes shorter as it goes down. The green cymbidiums and green dendrobiums make this headdress a beautiful one. This is an elaborated hat with peacock feathers and big red roses. You can see gold pearls and some vines hanging from the hat. This is my favourite of all the headdresses presented. I would call this a 'carnival hat' because of its bright multi colors. Sphere color foams are used in this headpiece, together with green cymbidiums, cream roses and metallic aluminium wire. This is also a headpiece using peacock feathers but with yellow Golden Ramseys, yellow dendrobiums and some johol leaves. I personally think the design could be improved. This next piece is very simple. It sends out a tropical message. Looks like something you would wear when on vacation in Hawaii. It is using cypress sticks, pink cymbidiums and philodendron leaves. Another simple headpiece. But the way the model is dressed matches the concept of the floral headdress perfectly. Beargrass are stacked together to form the headdress. After all the catwalking, all the models lined up with their respective designers for a photo shoot.
