Come Enjoy The Great Arrangements From Floral Events 2010!
Whenever I have the means (this means, $$$), I would certainly visit floral events held in my country or neighbouring country. It is fun to see the floral displays from the exhibition and the creativity displayed by the participating florists. Also, by going to a particular event, I get a chance to go for a family holiday, so it is something not to be missed. It is something that I look forward to every year, and something that I want to share with you, showing you what is going on in the floral industry in this part of the world. In this page, you can find information about the events that I have visited. You can find pictures that I have taken from the show. I will be adding more events as I visit them.....so always come back to this page for more updates, OK? The events I visited so far is... - Ikebana's Hidden Beauty.... Revealed
- Putrajaya Floria 2010 "Tropical Splendour"
Ikebana's Hidden Beauty.... RevealedThis was the motto for this year's 46th Annual Ikebana Exhibition Kuala Lumpur Chapter 42. Held at the elegant Parkroyal Hotel of Kuala Lumpur, on 22nd May. I arrived there early and managed to take pictures of the beautiful ikebana arrangements on display there. Later, when all the guests were seated in the lovely ballroom, the guests arrived. The Royal Patron, the queen. The Honorary Patron, the wife of Japan's Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur. Also present was Dr.Leonard Lim, who was flown from Singapore to do a ikebana floral demonstration for all guests. How lucky we were. Dr. Leonard Lim is a dental surgeon by profession, who also practices Ikebana from the Ikenobo School of Japan. Although from a different school of teaching, all the ikebana members share the same passion for ikebana, If you would like to see the demonstration pieces by Dr. Leonard Lim, you can click here. He demonstrated 8 pieces altogether, including both traditional and modern arrangements. The event could not have been completed with a traditional Balinese dance by one of the Ikebana members and also a lucky draw for guests to bring home gifts as souvenirs.
Putrajaya Floria 2010 I did not miss this year's Floria 2010 as well. It was held at the same location in Putrajaya. In the Floral Pavillion, you can see marvellous works of art using flowers. I was amazed by the creativity displayed by the designers, international ones as well as local ones. Below are interesting sections from the Floral Pavillion that I want to share with you...
