Crushing Stems With Hammer

The theoery behind this technique is that, when you crush the stems with a hammer, the fibres of the stem are exposed.

The exposed area is the surface area for water absorption. The more fibres are exposed, the more area for water absorption is provided.

This technique is suitable for flowers having hard fibres in the stem and having thick branches which can't be penetrated with scissors.

Those flowers are like Cherry Blossoms, Peach flowers and Plum flowers.

How To

1. Cut the end of the stem slantingly.

2. Place the stem on a hard surface and crush it with a hammer.

3. If the branch is sturdy, hit with the hammer a few times.

4. After that, place the crushed stem in a container of water.
