Crescent Inverted Arrangement

A crescent inverted arrangement is in the shape of a crescent arrangement but upside down.

Instead of flowers going upward, it's direction is downward. So, it can be easy to make. It can be easier if using the right materials for this arrangement.

In this arrangement, I used pink gerberras, white calla lilies, lipstick roses, pink spray carnations, purple peonies, pink small flowers (I haven't figure out the name), song leaves, paku leaves and beargrass.

Firstly, of course is to prepare the container, inserted with floral foam which has absorbed water. Then, the container is tied to a metal stand, using wire.

As with any crescent arrangement, one side is longer than the other. To define the two sides of the crescent, I inserted two stalks of calla lilies on each side, one side longer than the other.

Calla lilies are very hard to insert because of its soft stem. For the technique to insert calla lilies, click here.

When the shape of the crescent is created, build from there. This is the crescent inverted interpretive type, so flowers are inserted in groupings.

Take the song leaves and insert to both sides, not covering the calla lilies.

Next, to cover the exposed foam, cut paku leaves in short lengths and begin inserting them into the foam.

When , it's almost covered, begin working on the focal area. The pink gerberras, of course, will be the focal flowers. Insert the pink gerberras near the center of the foam.

Avoid from all the gerberras facing in one direction. Also, create dimension between the gerberras by inserting them in different lengths. Also, avoid overlapping them.

Now, take the lipstick roses and insert them in grouping, near the gerberras.

To build more volume on the two sides, and also to have colour continuity from middle to the sides, we need to add the carnations, peonies and the small pink flowers (I stil can't figure out the name).

Now, the middle part is heavily pink. So, we need to tone down the colour and bring to the sides.

On one side, insert the peonies and the spray carnations.

One the other side, insert the small pink flowers.

Lastly, to further define the crescent shape, bear grass is added on both sides.
