Contemporary Orchid Cascade Bouquet For The Modern Bride
Here's one contemporary orchid cascade bouquet that sophisticated brides, like yourself, will like. Minimal flowers but nonetheless, looks good on any bride.
This is a cascade bouquet using green cymbidium orchids, pale pink crown of thorns and teacup leaves.
If you still wonder whether a cascade bouquet is right for you, here's a guide to help you make your decision.
Now back to this special bouquet, cymbidium orchids, pale pink crown of thorns and teacup leaves are just the flowers and foliage you need.
First and foremost, you have to wire and tape each single flower. For the cymbidium, because of its weight, you need two wires to be able with them in the bouquet.
One goes through the flower and the other goes into the stem, into the flower, like this...
Then, tape the wire using floral tape.
Wire and tape the teacup leaves and crown of thorns as well.
When that is done, prepare around 20 pieces of curled copper wire. You can prepare them by using your two fingers and wrap around them. Or, you can use any object that can create the copper wire curls.
Now, using the curled copper wire, we are going to form the cascade shape of the bridal bouquet.
Combine the curled copper wire piece by piece, intertwining them around each other. Add one by one while forming them into a cascade shape.
It is better to make sure not one piece is loose now rather than the copper wire falling off after we have added the flowers.
Your cascade shape should look like this...
Now, before we add the flowers, we to add a stronger support to hold the structure together.
Take 2 pieces of thick copper wire, and insert one horizontally and the other one vertically into the cascade structure.
The excess copper wire will be the bouquet holder. Don't leave the end of the copper wire not taken care of.
Fold the end inside again so that the holder near the bride is blunt and will not tear the bride's gown while she holds the bouquet.
Now, it's time for adding the flowers. Since the cascade structure is made of curls, we cannot just add the wired cymbidium with the straight wire.
Curl the wire with your finger then decide where to place the cymbidium.
Then, place the cymbidium there and let the curled wire work into the structure.
Secure the cymbidium by manipulating the curled copper wire to support the cymbidium. Continue with rest of the cymbidiums.
Then, using the same technique, add on the crown of thorns and the teacup leaves.
When that is finished, we need to clean up the handle. Wrap the holder using copper brown colored satin ribbon and tie a ribbon at the end.
And here is the outcome.
