Making A Color Foam Arrangement Is All About Playing With Colors

Ever since color foams were introduced, the floral arrangement industry has revolutionized.

Why do I say that?

Before, floral foams were just a mere 'tool' for the florist. It helps florist in their floral arrangement. That's it.

We have been taught in flower arrangement classes, to cover the foam with leaves. Arrangements that has visible floral foam is considered incomplete.

But now, ever since there are color foams, it has become part of the arrangement itself.

A mindshift is required. With the availability of a variety of colors, color foams are meant to be seen. Imagine your foam is already covered with colorful leaves.

In this color foam arrangement that I am going to show you, I will using yellow foam in the form of a long block and also lime green color foam in the form of spheres.

When incorporating color foam into your arrangement, there are 2 important points you need to remember.

#1 - Control the use of color in your arrangement. It is very obvious that color foam are very colorful. Choose flowers whose color matches the color foam. but, don't introduce too many colors in the arrangement.

#2- Use very less leaves. We want to show the color foam. When you use too much foliage, the arrangement looks messy and will cover the color foam.

So in this arrangement I will use cherry pink anthuriums, green pompoms and dark pink spray carnations.

Firstly, soak all foams in water. Then, take a few acryllic stems and insert a few green spheres in them. Then, insert each stem into the yellow foam to form loops as shown in the picture below.

Next, take the cherry pink anthuriums and cut them into short lengths. Insert them in groupings into the yellow foam.

Then, separate each carnation spray and insert them on the green sphere. The flower to insert into the ball foam has to be light because the ball foam is alerady heavy with water being absorbed.

Your arrangement should look like this...

Lastly, take the green pompoms, cut them into short lengths. Insert each one into groupings into the yellow foam. Create dimension by adding different lengths of pompoms.

And, that's it. Your color foam arrangement is done. Very simple and the result is so colorful...
