Burgundy Calla Sheaf Bouquet For The Tall Bride

A sheaf bouquet is also called the Arm bouquet. It is often carried in the cradle of the arm, and the best flower for this type of bouquet is the calla lilies.

In this example, I used burgundy calla lilies, together with red arachnis orchids, red carnations, some salix and aspidistra leaves.

Making this bouquet is really simple. Lay down 2 pieces of aspidistra leaves.

Hold them up in your hands, then add the arachnis orchids on top of the leaves while holding them in your hands.

Add them so that the length is about 3/4 of the length of the leaves.

Next, add the burgundy calla lilies. Make sure the length of each calla varies.

Then, add the bright red carnations to the top, but below the position of the callas. They should be the nearest to the position of the holder.

The callas and the carnations have straight stems, that's why they are used in this sheaf bouquet.

But to make the bouquet more loosen up, instead of stiffing it with straight lines, I added 2 salix and the sides.

This way, this burgundy calla sheaf bouquet looks more interesting, modern and natural.

Because I wanted the natural look for this bouquet, I decided not to use fabric ribbons but 'natural' ones.

After I wrapped the stems with floral tape, I used the same aspidistra leaf to wrap the handle, and secure it with ribbons made of strands of the same leaf.

And now, my burgundy calla sheaf bouquet is ready, and can be used for your wedding.
