Books review by Liztiany Zakaria

There may be many flower arrangement books written by many flower arrangers in the world. But here, I am recommending books which I think are the best flower arrangement books I've read so far.

I find that the designs in these books are very attractive and the instructions given are very easy to understand.

Let's see which books are worth your money...

Firstly, is this book.

The Art Of Floral Design by Norah T.Hunter

This is the perfect book for beginners to flower arrangement. It teaches you the basic principles of floral arranging with diagrams to help you understand better.

It is a comprehensive book, everything you need is in this book. You will refer to it over and over again in your floristry career.

The readers of this book claim that this is the BIBLE OF THE FLORAL INDUSTRY.

Another book I'm recommending here is....

A Master Guide to the Art Of Floral Design by Alisa De Jong-Stout and Hannah Sigur

This book emphasizes on the nature of flowers itself. The opening sentence tells all. "In floral design, there is no better teacher than the flower itself".

When you grasp the idea, you can create many beautiful arrangements based on the characteristics of each flower.

The illustrations are great, there are indoor pictures and outdoor pictures with stunning flower arrangements. Suitable for both beginners and professionals.

Not forgetting this wonderful book by Marcia Hurst.

The Encyclopedia Of Flower Arranging Techniques by Marcia Hurst

This wonderful book gives an overview of what flower arrangement is like. It teaches you the things that you should know when you become a florist. For instance, it covers topics like color, form, balance, designs like wreaths, baskets and such.

Even how to choose containers and the types of containers is well explained here. Also included is the kind of wiring works a florist has to get involved with.

It is a good book if you're starting to become a florist.
